PLATO’S STEPCHILDREN IS THE MOST HEART WRENCHING THING I’VE EVER SEEN! WHY DID NO ONE WARN ME? (╯; Д ;）╯
I think vulcan could be a really cosy planet… at least some parts of it.
That’s to say, the parts where there isn’t rampant vulcanic activity or a giant scary planet called T’Khut constantly looming above…
Actually, vulcan is kinda scary…
Translation from Swedish:
"How often haven’t good matrimonial unity and living bliss been ruined by not knowing to read each others basic characteristics, inclinations and desires."
Wow, book. That was scary deep… :”’I
Star Trek: TOS - Season 2 Episode 8 "I, Mudd"
Things learnt in this episode:
Chekov is a fucking pimp and I love him for it.
Kirk has a serious case of objectophilia.
I deeply don’t think Uhura would have gone for immortality and everlasting beauty.
*I know she implied she wanted that, but I don’t think Uhura, as a real person, would have thought that the most important thing to her. There’s more to her than a desirable female body, unless you’re a 1960s scriptwriter.
Well, Uhura was the first one in the episode to get offered anything and that was for her brain/consciousness to be put in an android body. Thus immortality and everlasting beauty. While it was obviously tempting to her she seemed to spend most of the episode sighing longingly because she knew it was never going to happen and that it wasn’t worth it in the end. I mean, Uhura’s smart enough to understand that living forever while all your friends and loved ones grow old and die isn’t that great… Not to mention the whole “would an android with my brain still really be me”-problem…
